Myself & My Relationships 1

An introduction to Personal, Social and Health Education.

Students will be learning about the importance of decision making that can affect their life choices.

Citizenship Unit 1

Students have an introduction to citizenship issues for young people & the community at large.

What role do we have as citizens of our community?

Myself & My Relationships 2

Students will be developing an understanding of the different communities that exist in the UK & the role of citizenship in our society.

Spring Term

Healthy & Safer Lifestyles 1

Students will have an introduction of how to keep ourselves healthy and deal with the physical and emotional changes that young people experience in their lives.

Religious Education 1

Students will have an introduction to the different religions that make up our society.

Summer Term

Healthy & Safer Lifestyles 3

Students will have an introduction to the factors that put our health at risk and the factors that may contribute to our success in life.

Myself & My Relationships 3

Students have an introduction to keeping ourselves safe online and in society.

Year 8

Autumn Term

Healthy & Safer Lifestyles 3

Students continue to look at the activities that may put our lives at risk and how society influences our decision making.

Citizenship Unit 2

Students will be looking at diversity and difference in society and how the law works.

Spring Term

Myself & My Relationships  4

Students will be looking into further issues that affect our socialisation in society:

Understanding sexuality, bullying, relationships, conflict management, anger issues, stress management , parenting and the acceptance of different families.

Citizenship Unit 3

Students will be looking at how as citizens we can develop our role in the community to play our part in helping create a just and fair society.

Religious Education 2

Students will be looking at the role that religion plays in the world and how that can affect us.  This will include rites of passage, baptisms, weddings, funerals and the impact of religion on world culture.  Religions studied will be Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism and Sikhism.

Citizenship Unit 4

The Children of the World Project

Students will be working on a project researching the lives of children around the word.  This will be a multi-cultural project on different countries and how they contribute to diversity.

Year 9

Autumn Term

Healthy & Safer Lifestyles 4

In this unit on Healthy and Safer lifestyles students will be looking at the possible risks to a healthy and successful life.

Citizenship Unit 5

Students will be developing the role of citizenship to look at human rights.

Spring Term

Myself & My relationships Unit 5

In this unit we will be looking at how to maintain and develop positive relationships with others we live with in society.

Citizenship Unit 6

The Cultures of the World 1

Year 10

Autumn Term

Healthy & Safer Lifestyles 5

In this unit students will be looking at the factors that contribute to our understanding of health and the implications of our choices.

Moral Issues 1

In this unit students will be looking at an introduction to moral issues and how they influence our values. 

Spring Term

Healthy & Safer Lifestyles 6

In this unit, students will be looking at the issues that confront us on identity and acceptance and how to cope in society with all its problems and challenges.  What do I understand about my sexuality, sexual identity and the implications for my relationships/ tackling homophobia in school and in society?

Summer Term

Moral Issues 2

In this unit students will be looking at an introduction to further moral issues that affect our lives.

Making the most of my relationships 6

Students will be looking at the problems that people may be dealing with in society, in order to be safe, confident & successful.  This will include issues of identity, sexuality, social exclusion, disability, acceptance, bullying and racism.
